Soldiers of Oxfordshire Museum Exhibition

‘Your Mission Starts Here’ – a major new exhibition at SOFO Museum will get visitors thinking critically about the mysterious world of secret intelligence.  The exhibition will shine a light on previously unknown but fascinating local connections to the intelligence world.  Oxfordshire intelligence officers were at the heart of the British war effort during the Second World War; from the commandos that knew no fear and wreaked havoc behind enemy lines, to the codebreakers and analysts who provided Prime Minister Winston Churchill with unprecedented insights into the Nazi war machine.

The exhibition will run from 28th October – 17th December 2021 and will feature objects from James Bond films.

Opening times for the museum are Wed – Sat 11am – 5pm, Sunday 2 – 5pm (last admission 4.15pm).  Visitor access to SOFO is through the Oxfordshire Museum, Park Street.

New Fly-Tipping Reporting System

Residents will be able to report fly-tips more easily thanks to an improved service from West Oxfordshire District Council.  A new online form will allow the user to pinpoint the fly-tip on an interactive map so they don’t have to spend time trying to describe the location or looking up a postcode.  That makes it easier for the Council team to locate and with previously reported cases visible, it also means less duplication, allowing a quicker investigation and clean-up.

If a resident calls for more information about their report, the customer services team can give more detailed case information on the spot.
